New Policy for invoicing Demurrage and Detention Charges for Import Longstanding Containers
As per the existing standard practice, Sealand – A Maersk Company provides the accrued Detention & Demurrage charges for Import Longstanding containers to you upon request. Alternatively, a standard Detention & Demurrage tariff is uploaded on our website for you to refer to.
We are now introducing a new initiative whereby we will offer a ’pro-active’ service to our valued customers. You would now receive our Demurrage and Detention invoice every week after cargo discharge. Any applicable standard or special free time will be excluded.
You will have full transparency in terms of the Demurrage and Detention costs involved for the discharged containers from an early stage. You can review, accept the provided charges and settle the invoice amount prior clearing your shipment or communicate to us if you notice any invoicing errors.
The above change will be implemented from 2nd February 2023.
